The family room was a solid space with a clean bathroom and a nice view, making for a cozy spot to recharge after a long day. The kid-friendly menu, especially the enormous halloumi fries, was a hit with my young ones.

The decor and furnishings felt a bit dated, and the stairways had threadbare carpets, which wasn't a great welcome. Noise from functions and banging doors stretched late into the evenings, affecting our good night's sleep, and maintenance delays meant the electric shower acted up initially, which was less than stellar. We came back on the second day to find our room hadn't been cleaned at all, despite signaling for service, so that was a letdown.

Clean and spacious double room offered a comfy atmosphere. The breakfast was impressive, with a good selection of locally sourced ingredients. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, making check-in smooth. Enjoyed the community feel around the hotel. noise disturbances during the night were unacceptable, with loud music and shouting. This seriously interrupted our sleep, making the stay less enjoyable. The bathroom door had glass panels, allowing light to disturb sleep during the night.

The bed felt comfortable during the stay, and the room featured a good supply of tea, coffee, and milk, making for a cozy setup. The view of the green hillside from the room added a nice touch, blending nature's tranquility with the setting.

The room above the bar turned out to be quite noisy, with sounds of furniture moving and shouting that disrupted sleep until late at night. The breakfast options were subpar, featuring low-quality produce that didn’t live up to the expected standard, notably the steak-flavored bacon which left much to be desired. The stair lift at the hotel created potential obstacles with luggage, adding a layer of inconvenience.

The double room was nice, but the bed was too soft for my liking.

The spacious King Room boasted a comfy large bed, and the breakfast was delightful. The staff were particularly friendly and offered great tips for exploring nearby Dovedale.

The portions were generous and the atmosphere was cozy. felt like home, nothing too much trouble. The shower pressure was spot on!

Food was choice, but bit noisy at night. Breakfast was heaps good, just found the bed too soft for my liking. had a sweet as stay!

I stayed for 2 nights in a family room. The bar area was so inviting, and the pub food? Amazing! Had the halloumi fries which were huge and delish! Only thing to note was the mains coulda been warmer, but overall worth it. Just a bit noisy at night, but nothing crazy.

stayed for one night at royal oak bed & breakfast and was pleasantly surprised! the food was excellent, especially the halloumi fries, and the breakfast was a highlight. everything exceeded my expectations during my previous visit to ashbourne, making for a delightful stay.

The food was delicious. Lots of parking just off the main road, and the location is perfect for walkers wanting to enjoy the Peak District. Breakfast was great too.

The hosts were exceptionally welcoming, always eager to assist. The bedroom was warm and clean, providing a cozy atmosphere during our stay. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful, and a delightful start to the day. I appreciated how the hosts ensured we felt comfortable with our family setup.
